The demand for glass fiber in the development of insulation materials

The insulation used for transformer coils is a type of aramid fiber paper, which has mainly relied on imported NOMEX paper from DuPont in the United States for decades, and the import volume is appropriately large, with a quotation of up to 600 yuan/kg. The professional users bear heavy cost pressure. For so many years, there have also been development companies in China, but the quality of their products is still unsatisfactory. It can be assumed that even if qualified quality polyamide fiber paper is announced domestically, its quotation will not be very low, and there are still doubts about the cost. Foreign countries have announced a type of glass fiber paper (QEEN-T paper) to address this issue. The production technology involves using papermaking to make paper from glass fibers and polymer fibers. This composite paper is then sintered together under sintering conditions to produce a certain thickness of composite paper, replacing aramid fiber paper. Although it cannot capture the entire market share, it can still gain a certain market share.

But this type of product has not yet been announced domestically. If this paper can be announced for insulation and electrical professions to choose from, it will have a certain market prospect and compete for higher profits for the fiberglass profession.
